Jesus answered him, ‘It is written, “One does not live by
bread alone.” ’

Reflection:
Jesus’ period in the desert was long and arduous. He did not
give into the temptations placed before him. Jesus had a response from
Scripture to defeat each temptation. Do
we also quote scriptures to overcome temptation? I suspect not!
